Ex-Pomp's Tire owner Roger Wochinske dies

Roger Wochinske, who owned Green Bay, Wis.-based Pomp's Tire Service for 25 years, died on Dec. 9 at the age of 86.

Wochinske retired in 1989. His son, Jim Wochinske, currently runs the dealership, which is the 12th largest independent tire store chain in the United States with 55 locations, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.

Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother, he is survived by his wife, LaVerne; children, Jim and Kathy Wochinske and their children, Kelly, Paul and Kyeong; and Jill and Kevin Callahan and their children, Mark and Nicole.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 14, at Faith Lutheran Church in Green Bay.
