Firestone Building Products earmarks $11 million for new distribution center

Nov. 22, 2006

Firestone Building Products Co. LLC plans to add 160,000 square feet of space to its Prescott, Ark., production facility. The cost will be $11 million; the result will be a new distribution center.

"Our plant is experiencing this growth because of the quality work and commitment of its (600) teammates," says Bill Smith, Prescott plant manager.

The distribution center will be built on 11 acres adjacent to the current facility. Plant management plans to reallocate employees to staff the new distribution center, which is scheduled to open in May 2007.

The 36-year-old facility produces EPDM single-ply rubber roofing, reinforced rubber roofing, flashing material and rubber membrane seam tape.

Firestone Building Products is an operating unit of BFS Diversified Products LLC, which is a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. (BSAH). BFS Diversified Products is responsible for BSAH's non-tire businesses.
