Trucks will move 69.2% of the United States' freight by the year 2011 and 69.5% by 2017, according to the American Trucking Associations' recently published U.S. Freight Transportation Forecast to 2017.

"Trucks have steadily increased their share of the nation’s freight pool," says ATA CEO and President Bill Graves.

The report also projects "robust growth in rail intermodal and air freight," according to ATA officials.
