Nokian Tyres plc is expanding mixing facilities and administrative office space at its plant in Vsevolozhsk, Russia, with work to start immediately.
Nokian hopes to complete the office expansion by November 2008 and the mixing facility expansion 11 months from now.
"The expansion of the mixing plant will increase the production capacity of rubber compounds to meet the planned volume of tire production," say Nokian officials.
The factory will have a total tire production capacity of 10 million units per year by 2011.
