ATD continues to look at sourcing for Winston

American Tire Distributors Inc. is continuing to assess future sourcing options for its Winston brand.

Winston is one of 10 private brands affected by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s decision to withdraw from certain segments of the private brand business. Goodyear made the announcement in late June.

"The sales performance on the Goodyear-build Winston brand remains very strong in the marketplace," says ATD Vice President of Marketing Ron Sinclair.

In a statement issued after Goodyear's private brand announcement was made, ATD officials said that the Akron, Ohio-based tiremaker will help transition ATD and its' dealers "to alternative products and sources of supply" over the next 12 months.
