RDH Tire & Retread Co. recently hired Gary Nichols as director of precure sales. The position was created to support a new supply agreement with Bandag Inc. ("RDH Tire & Retread to use Bandag OTR tread," Sept. 26, 2006).
"His extensive experience with fleet customers will help RDH expand its precure OTR tire sales efforts," says Ty Smith, corporate sales manager.
Nichols joins RDH Tire after a successful 27-year career in the commercial over-the-road truck tire industry. He most recently served as national manager of fleet sales for Continental Tire North America Inc., where he worked for 17 years.
He also has held sales and management positions with Michelin North America Inc. and Jim Martin Tire Co. in Jacksonville, Fla.
The RDH plant in Cleveland, N.C., is manufacturing precure retread tires using Bandag's Contiuum brand OTR retread materials.
