Gori will address industry challenges at tire technology conference

Francesco Gori, CEO of Pirelli Tyre S.p.A., will give the

keynote address at the 25th annual Conference on Tire Science and Technology in Akron, Ohio, on Monday, Sept. 11. The international conference is sponsored by the Tire Society.

Gori, who has led the Italian tiremaker since 2001 and has been a Pirelli manager for the last 28 years, is the architect of many of Pirelli's current successes. He is expected to talk on the

current challenges facing the tire business and how Pirelli has embraced technology to achieve its profitability objectives.

Six sessions will follow Gori's opening speech. They will address rolling resistance, materials and "student papers" on Monday, and tire/road interaction, "tire forces and moments/vehicle dynamics," and tire performance design on Tuesday.
