Maine Commercial Tire expects big gains for the year

Bangor, Maine-based Maine Commercial Tire Inc. expects to see an 18% revenue increase this year.

Contributing to growth is the company's newest outlet in Portland, Maine, which opened last December.

The five-bay facility stocks "a complete inventory of new and retreaded medium truck tires and wheels," says Maine Commercial Tire co-owner Jim McCurdy. It employs six people, including a dedicated outside salesman.

"It is located in an area (that's) heavily populated by the trucking industry." The center operates three service trucks, including two one-ton vehicles and a Class 6 boom truck.

Maine Commercial Tire has a total of four commercial tire outlets, in addition to one retread shop. It sells Bridgestone, Firestone, Sumitomo and SailUN brand products.
