Yokohama will raise prices in October

Aug. 11, 2006

Yokohama Tire Corp. will raise prices on all of its tires, effective Oct. 1, due to soaring raw material costs.

Yokohama will hike passenger, light truck, medium radial truck, bus, and commercial light truck tire prices up to 7%. OTR radial and bias tire prices will increase up to 8%.

"The increase will be on all products and all brands produced by Yokohama, including associate brands and private brands," say Yokohama officials.

"Specific details, including in-line adjustments, will be announced at a later date."

"Yokohama is committed to delivering the best products at competitive prices," says Jim MacMaster, Yokohama executive vice president, Business Division.

"We will use our technology and on-going improvements in manufacturing and operational efficiency to meet our customer needs."
