Toyo names three to sales positions

Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp. recently appointed Lowell Slimp, Matt Futrelle and Ken Newsom to regional sales positions.

Slimp is the new truck tire sales manager for the central United States region. He is returning to Toyo after spending six years at Continental Tire North America Inc. as a commercial products manager. He originally joined Toyo's technical department in 1985.

In 1996, Slimp was promoted to regional sales manager, a title he held until leaving in 2000.

Toyo hired Futrelle as sales manager of the eastern Division. In his new position, he will be responsible for sales in North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Most recently, he worked with Snider Tire Inc. in Durham, N.C.

Newsom is the new director of sales for Toyo's southern division. He began his career at Toyo in the spring of 1989, and was named truck tire sales manager in 2000. Most recently, he was assistant division sales manager.

In 2003, Newsom was named the company's "Salesman of the Year."

Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2006.
