Continental teams with International Truck

Aug. 2, 2006

Continental Tire North America Inc. has signed an agreement with International Truck and Engine Corp. to supply International branded trucks with Continental tires.

The agreement will provide all International Truck dealers with the ability to order both the Continental and General tire lines as a published option.

"An expanded relationship with Continental supports International's

growth strategies, including share expansion in the linehaul segment, growth in new markets and introductions of new products, including the new ProStar model tractor," says Steve Gilligan, assistant general manager of International's Heavy Vehicle Center.

Clif Armstrong, Continental's director of original equipment and marketing, views the relationship as being very beneficial to the end user.

"Continental's HSL and HDL Eco Plus tires have proven themselves to be solid performers in the tire industry," he says. "The technologically advanced compounds help reduce rolling resistance, which can lead to better fuel economy."
