Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC (BFNT) has signed a deal with the Indy Racing League that will re-establish the series' Firestone Indy Lights name. BFNT's Firestone and Dayton brands headlined the Indy Lights Championships from 1991 through 2001.

When the Indy Lights series disbanded after 2001, the Firestone brand became the official tire of the Indy Pro Series.

"This multi-year agreement officially re-names what has previously been the Indy Pro Series to Firestone Indy Lights," say BFNT officials.

Firestone also will maintain its status as the official tire of Indy Lights, in addition to the IndyCar Series and the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race.
