Kumho Tire Co. has started building tires at its plant in Tianjin, China.
The factory is expected to build more than five million tires a year, according to the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area.
"In 2007, the company will increase investment to $370 million (U.S.) in order to meet a predicted production level of 10.4 million tires."
Kumho has another tire plant in Nanjing, China. The Tianjin factory is operated by Kumho subsidiary Kumho Tires (Tianjin) Co. Ltd.
