Negotiators from Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC (BFNT) and the United Steelworkers will return to the bargaining table on July 11.
"It’s likely the talks will progress slowly since the union has selected Michelin as its target," says a BFNT spokesman.
BFNT and the Steelworkers were on a scheduled break. They are meeting in St. Louis, Mo.
In addition to BFNT and Michelin North America Inc., the union also is trying to forge a new labor contract with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
