Changes in F1 rules calling for a single tire supplier "go completely against" Michelin's belief that the series should be "an arena where the most advanced technologies can do battle in the interest of motoring."
Michelin has announced it will not return to F1 in 2007. F1's sanctioning body, the Federation Internationale De L'Automobile, is planning to switch to a single tire supplier, and has opened the field to tire manufacturers.
