Marathon Brake Systems Inc. has hired Rick Howell as general manager. He had been working with Marathon and several other heavy-duty aftermarket companies in 2003 when he formed his company, Howell & Associates Inc., following his retirement from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
"My initial goal as general manager of the company will be transformation of the present organization's business model and structure so that our focus on our ability to serve our customers is made even sharper."
He adds that Marathon's research and development team is working on new products and materials.
Howell concluded his 31-year career with Goodyear as director of sales and marketing for the company's North American Commercial Tire business division.
