Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. is building a new distribution center in the Atlanta suburb of McDonough, Ga. The 410,000-square-foot building is expected to be completed next February.

According to David Hudrlik, vice president of sales and marketing, the new facility will serve as Kumho's distribution center for all of the company's dealers in the southeastern United States. It also will serve as a hub to distribute tires to Kumho warehouses in Columbus, Ohio, and Chicago.

"We will ship tires directly from our plants in Korea and China to our new facility in Atlanta," says Hudrlik. "Previously, we shipped tires from our plants to our California warehouse, and from there on to Atlanta, Chicago and Columbus. With more space in Atlanta, we'll be able to ship directly there and use the facility as a hub to get tires to our other warehouses and our customers."
