The Reifen 2006 international tire fair held last week at Messe Essen in Germany set records for exhibitors, visitors and international interest, reports the show's organizers.
The number of exhibitors was up 15%, with 473 suppliers from 42 countries. Attendance was up over 8% with 17,100 tire industry participants from 80 countries.
"Our optimistic expectations have been surpassed," says Dr. Joachim Henneke, the chairman and CEO of Messe Essen.
"For the tire industry, commerce and craftsmen, there is no comparable event anywhere in the world," says Peter Julzer, executive chairman of BRV -- Bundesverband Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk (Federal Association of the Tire Trade and the Vulcanizers' Skilled Trade), the sponsor of this year's show.
The next Reifen show will be held at Messe Essen on May 20-23, 2008.
