New England tire dealers come out in force

May 15, 2006

A record number of people recently attended the annual New England Tire and Service Association (NETSA) Trade Show and Convention. Atendance was up 18% compared to the previous year.

Held at the Mohegan Sun Casino and Hotel in Uncasville, Conn., the event combined business contact opportunities, educational seminars and industry-centric social events.

"State and regional association events are critical to our industry," says Rich Tuttle, chairman of the Trade Show Committee. "Many of our members are unable to get to the national events, and we are able to truly address their local concerns.

"With attendance up for the second year in a row, our seminars were well attended and sponsorship was up. All of this is good for our members and our vendors, who were wonderful participants in purchasing 98 booths to sell out the 20,000-square-foot trade show floor."

Tony Koles, president of Montvale Tire Co. in Melrose, Mass., received the "President's Award" from NETSA President Neil Schlossberg.

Next year's convention is scheduled to be held April 13–15, 2007, again at the Mohegan Sun Casino and Hotel.

The NETSA has 275 members, made up of independent tire and automotive service centers throughout the New England area.
