Order Reprints

Five more truck tire retread facilities run by GCR Tire Centers have received ISO 9001:2000 certification. The retreading facilities are in Birmingham, Ala.; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Harlingen, Texas; Phoenix, Ariz.; and Sacremento, Calif.

GCR, a 192-store chain, is part of the BFRC Commercial Tire Group, itself a division of BFS (Bridgestone/Firestone) Retail & Commercial Operations LLC. Thirteen of its 29 retread plants have been certified.

The ISO 9001:2000 certification process recognizes those facilities that have undergone and passed an intensive third-party examination of globally recognized quality management system requirements.
