Continental Tire North America Inc.'s CEO and President Dr. Alan Hippe recently told Modern Tire Dealer magazine that the company needs to work on the link between the OE position and the replacement market. "We have to benefit more. We have to look at how the market develops at a very early stage."

Hippe said he feels the company can be "more proactive than we have been in the past taking advantage of this information, especially if it means better development of a tire and having product available earlier."

Hippe also discussed CTNA's high performance and winter tires, and his role at the company going forward.
