Big O Tires Inc. is recommending that its franchisees charge $7.95 per tire to reset tire pressure monitoring systems.
"This charge seems to be reasonable to the consumer, especially when compared to the auto dealers," say Big O officials.
Big O research indicates that some car dealers charge up to $80 to rotate and reset the systems.
The TBC Corp. subsidiary has spent the last several months developing tire pressure monitoring system training and presenting it to franchisees.
"We felt it was important for our tire professionals to be at the head of the curve in providing this service for our customers."
There are more than 550 Big O franchise stores.
