Pirelli, Maserati extend collaboration agreement

April 20, 2006

Pirelli & Cie SpA and Maserati SpA have extended their global collaboration agreement for two more years.

Their inaugural agreement, signed in 2003, "brought positive results to both companies," according to Pirelli. It will continue to cover both motorsports involvement and consumer product development.

In 2005, the companies won Constructors' and Team titles in the FIA-GT Championship (with the Maserati MC12 riding on P Zero racing tires) and posted victories in other international and Italian racing circuits.

(The international FIA-GT Championship starts May 7 at Great Britain's Silverstone circuit.)

On a more commercial level, the entire production of the Maserati Quattroporte, GranSport Coupe and GranSport Spyder sports cars are fitted exclusively with Pirelli P Zero tires as original equipment.
