Goodyear (or in this case, "Lightyear") brand tires will play a role in the upcoming Disney-Pixar cartoon, Cars.

Lightyear brand tires were created for and appear throughout the feature length movie, which opens on June 9, say Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. officials.

Goodyear is supplying real-life Lightyears for full-size models of the movie's character cars that are touring several U.S. cities.

Goodyear will give away Cars soundtracks to consumers at retail shops starting next month.

"We try to connect with projects that appeal to our customers and their families," says Joey Viselli, Goodyear's director of marketing services, "then provide them with a value-added offer as a thank you for their business."
