Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire LLC (BFNT) has named Mark Emkes its new chairman, CEO and president, effective Sept. 16.
Emkes currently is president of Birdgestone/Firestone Americas Holding Inc.'s (BFAH) Latin American Operations group.
His successor in that position will be announced soon, say BFNT officials.
BFAH CEO, Chairman and President John Lampe says Emkes, who started with Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. 26 years ago, "will make a significant, positive contribution to our North American operations."
Emkes will be in charge of BFNT's sales organization, plus its product development and manufacturing.
