Langley, British Columbia-based O.K. Tire Stores Inc. has named Greg Sims its new CEO and president. Sims began his term on March 1.

Nelson Gray, who has been serving as O.K. Tire's president and general manager since March 2005, will reassume his previous role as senior vice president.

A 28-year tire industry veteran, Sims has worked for Michelin North America Inc. in a variety of capacities and most recently operated his own consulting company that specialized in strategic planning.

"He brings to O.K. Tire Stores a strong strategic approach, a solid understanding of the various regional realities of the Canadian (tire) market, and a clear appreciation of the needs of independent Canadian tire dealers," say O.K. Tire officials.

O.K. Tire has more than 260 franchise locations and nine regional warehouses throughout Canada.
