Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) is having preliminary talks with local government officials about possibly relocating its Charlotte, N.C., headquarters to another location in the Charlotte area.
"However, we want to emphasize that these are only preliminary discussions and there is absolutely no decision on relocation," a CTNA spokesman has told moderntiredealer.com.
"Relocating is a very expensive proposition with many factors to consider. At this time, we are only trying to determine whether a move would be cost-justified.
"Currently our main focus is to continue to restructure our manufacturing operations to become cost competitive."
