Itochu International Inc. has established a new corporation called Itochu Tire America.
The entity is what Itochu previously called its tire and rubber division, according to Ed Mangola, an official from AM-PAC Tire Distributors Inc., which is owned by Itochu.
Itochu markets Jupiter and Capitol brand performance, high performance and light truck tires throughout the United States and Canada. The tires are made by Nexen Tire Corp.
Tony Yanashima remains Itochu International's president, says Mangola.
The new company's formation "has very little effect on other Itochu companies, including AM-PAC and Tire Pros." (Tire Pros is AM-PAC's franchise arm.)
