Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has won Penske Truck Leasing Co.'s Outstanding Achievement Award for 2007, the first time a tire supplier has received the honor.
Goodyear supplies Penske with a variety of truck tires, including replacements and retreads, as well as tire services.
"The company also has provided more than 12,000 hours of training for Penske to enhance fleet tire maintenance," says Steve McClellan, Goodyear's vice president of commercial tire systems.
"In addition, Goodyear nationwide surveys helped Penske reduce tire-related emergency service calls by 38% last year."
Penske Truck Leasing Co. is a joint venture of Penske Corporation and General Electric. It operates more than 220,000 vehicles out of more than 1,000 locations throughout North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
