Community Tire collects $40,000 for the wounded

Community Wholesale Tire Inc. was the Platinum Sponsor for the local "Wounded Warrior Project" golf benefit recently. The Wounded Warrior Project's mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors who incur service-related wounds, injuries and illnesses (physical or psychological) on or after Sept. 11, 2011.

Phil Berra, president of Community Wholesale Tire, served on the event committee.

"Our family has a special interest in the work of the Wounded Warrior Project as our son/brother is an active USAF pilot, currently deployed to the Middle East," he says. "I strongly believe that we cannot do enough to help rebuild the lives of the brave men and women who come home injured after serving our country.”

Through its sponsorship, supplier support and donations by customers who attended the event, Community Wholesale Tire raised more than $40,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project. Tire suppliers who contributed include:
