Oct. 4, 2012

Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. announced its Kumho Solus KH16 touring tire came out ahead after a recent national survey polling 25,000 vehicle owners.

AutoPacific, an automotive marketing research and product-consulting firm, surveyed 25,000 vehicle owners who bought replacement tires over the past 12 months. Results are published in the Replacement Tire Buyer Dynamics and Satisfaction Study.

The study surveyed 22 replacement tire brands. Its goal was to determine what is important when choosing a replacement tire and which tire brands provide the most satisfying experience.

Kumho Tire says its line of top- level touring tires combine the technology for good tread wear characteristics from all-season tires, plus handling and grip associated with performance tires. Kumho Tire’s touring tires also exhibit very low noise and unparalleled ride comfort.

“We pride ourselves here at Kumho Tire with providing superior products that are durable and affordable,” said Rick Brennan, vice president of marketing, Kumho Tire U.S.A. “Being recognized for our accomplishments in the marketplace in terms of our customers’ satisfaction is one of the ultimate validations that we are listening to and giving our consumers what they’re looking for.”

Brennan went on to say that a driver’s only four points of contact with the road are his or her tires. A veteran of the tire industry, Brennan indicated that knowing when to replace one’s tires and why can be life-saving knowledge.

“Being armed with the knowledge of which brands provide the most satisfying experience is critical when deciding which replacement tires to purchase,” said Brennan. “Here at Kumho, tire safety and comfort are our number one goals.”

Each of the 25,000 people surveyed rated the importance of, and their satisfaction with, 23 different tire characteristics. AutoPacific used 13 characteristics to calculate the Tire Satisfaction Scores, including: fuel efficiency, traction, handling, durability, ride comfort, appearance and reputation. With the results of these scores, AutoPacific figured the overall winners and the top-rated brands.
