Which A/S tires are the best? The winners are...

Oct. 4, 2012

The results are in, and they may or may not be what you expected.

Every year, "Consumer Reports" runs the results of one (or more) of its tire tests in its November issue. This year, the magazine tested a total of 78 tires in four categories:

T-rated All-Season,

H-rated Performance All-Season,

V-rated Performance All-Season and

Winter.

Based on the rankings, Michelin tires dominated three of the four tests, and didn't fare too badly in the fourth, either. Both Continental Tire the Americas LLC and Pirelli Tire North America Inc. also had strong showings.

To read more about the latest tire testing results from "CR," you can do one of two things: Buy the issue, which is already on the newsstands or read Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich's latest blog, "Almost a clean sweep: Michelin dominates the latest 'Consumer Reports' report."

Do any of your customers follow the "Consumer Reports" rankings when they come into your shop? Is it important for you to be aware of them? Do you use them to sell tires? Let us know by leaving a comment!
