Sullivan Tire wants you to 'Touch a Truck'

Residents of Watertown, Mass., and the surrounding communities are invited to "Touch a Truck" on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.

The event will be presented by Sullivan Tire Co. Inc., Sports Authority and Massachusetts WIC (women, infants and children).

"Truck enthusiasts of all ages are invited to Arsenal Mall... to get an up close look at a variety of trucks," says Sullivan Tire. They will include the following:

* Watertown Police Department Cruiser,

* Massachusetts State Police Cruiser,

* Pizzeria Regina Delivery Truck,

* Sports Radio WEEI (93.7 FM radio) vehicle,

* American Red Cross Ambulance,

* Dump Truck,

* Front End Loader, and

* BOND Bros Construction truck.

Blinkee the Clown will be making a special appearance this year from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. courtesy of Sullivan Tire. A "Child Passenger Safety" technician who can teach and verify proper safety seat installation also will be at the event.  Interested parties may sign up on a first come, first serve basis at the Franciscan Hospital for Children table.

The first 200 families will receive a $25 Sullivan Tire Cash Coupon.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Arsenal Mall parking lot, 485 Arsenal St. in Watertown. Admission is $5 per person, or a maximum $20 per family.

All proceeds will benefit the Simon Youth Foundation and the Franciscan Hospital for Children.
