Michelin video goes behind-the-scenes

Sept. 20, 2012

In conjunction with a new series of tire performance videos (directed by Academy-award winning cinematographer of The Italian Job, Inception and the Batman trilogy, Wally Pfister), Michelin North America Inc. is offering car and film buffs a back-stage pass to the making of the videos.

The behind-the-scenes footage, available exclusively on the Michelin Man YouTube channel, gives viewers a glimpse of all that goes into the development and creation of a tire performance video. Watch as the tire becomes a star performer in exercises demonstrating the tires role in braking, handling, performance and fuel savings.

The behind-the-scenes content includes exclusive commentary from Wally Pfister (what’s the top speed of his car-mounted ultimate arm camera?), the creative team (what does it take to set up 100,000 dominos?) and stunt drivers (what do they worry about when behind the wheel?)

Featuring the tires in action, the four-video series (directed and filmed by Pfister) and accompanying behind-the-scenes footage are designed to bring to life tire performance attributes. After watching the making of, be sure to click the embedded “watch the full video” link to see the final cut.

As part of the video series premiere, Michelin is giving consumers the chance to get behind the wheel and take the tires for a test ride. Visit Michelin Man on Facebook by Sept. 27, 2012, to enter for a chance to win a spot at the Porsche Sport Driving School.
