Sept. 11, 2012

For the second year in a row, Curry's Auto Service has been named to the "Washington Business Journal" list of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies in the Washington, D.C., area.

The "Washington Business Journal" recognizes companies with at least three years of consecutive revenue growth for their annual Fastest Growing Companies awards. Participating companies must have more than $2 million in revenue in 2009 and more than $10 million in revenue in 2011 to qualify.

The winners will be profiled in a special supplement in the Oct. 5-11, 2012, edition of the magazine.

Headquartered in Gainesville, Va., Curry's Auto Service recorded revenues of $17.1 million in 2011, an increase of $7.1 million or 41% over its revenues of $10 million in 2009.

It is one of the largest independent auto service and repair shops in the Washington, D.C., area, with nine locations in northern Virginia and Maryland. As part of its growth strategy, Curry's opened three new stores in 2011.

"We will continue our expansion with the opening of a new shop in Leesburg, Va., by the end of 2012," says Matt Curry, founder and CEO of Curry's Auto Service.

In August, the dealership was named to the "Inc 5000" list for the third consecutive year. Earlier this year, Curry's Auto Service was recognized as a finalist for the Washington Area Jefferson Awards for Public Service.

Matt and Judy Curry, co-founders of Curry's Auto Service, have donated their time and money, totaling over $300,000, to 57 national and regional charitable groups, churches, parent-teacher associations and youth athletic clubs since they started their company in 1997. Curry's was also a 2012 finalist for the area's Apollo Awards for best practices in employee development.
