Mitas introduces premium American product lines

Aug. 28, 2012

At the Farm Progress Show, Aug. 28-30, 2012, in Boone, Iowa, Mitas Tires North America Inc. is introducing its premium product line sold in North America.

The company says the line accommodates the demands from the farming community with locally made products manufactured at its Charles City, Iowa radial farm tire factory.

After Sept. 1, all Mitas-made premium tires delivered to U.S. farmers will bear the Mitas brand name. These tires are based on Continental brand agricultural tires, which Mitas has made under license since 2004.

“The new Mitas premium lines focus on tire sizes that the American farmers demand,” said Neil Rayson, who is responsible for sales in North America. “Mitas is extending the dealer network, growing sales to original equipment manufacturers and improving Mitas’ premium warranty conditions.”

Rayson says the simplified brand offer will help farmers choose the right tire. Now, nine Mitas-branded lines are designated as premium because they offer improved benefits to the farmer.

These include the Super Flexion Tire (SFT). Shipments of Mitas premium tires made in Charles City started in July, delivered to customers including John Deere and Case IH.

“Mitas’ Charles City factory has been increasing its output as new machinery is installed,” said Pavel Charvat, president of Mitas Tires North America.

A total of 110 people work at the production plant, a number the company says will double by late 2013.
