Tire care and service, the RMA way

Aug. 10, 2012

More than 220,000 tire dealer, auto dealer and automotive repair locations will receive free tire care and service materials this month courtesy of the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA).

RMA says it is providing this information to tire and automotive service locations nationwide to help ensure that service technicians have tire manufacturer guidelines for the proper care and service of tires.

The mailing includes four important tire repair and service wall charts covering puncture repair, demounting/mounting procedures, zipper rupture inspection procedures and truck/bus tire puncture repair procedures.

Additionally, the mailing contains a CD-ROM with an updated RMA Tire Care and Service Manual. It also contains more than a dozen tire information service bulletins. RMA says the materials are important reference materials for any business that sells or services tires.

“We have been working with our members to review and update many of our tire care and service publications,” said Charles Cannon, RMA president and CEO.

“So many businesses rely on RMA publications for important tire service information that our members wanted to distribute this updated information free of charge to as broad an industry audience as possible.”

All of the publications on the CD also are available in a free electronic download format from RMA’s web site at www.rma.org.
