MT Street Comp: a 'racing' tire for the street

July 29, 2012

Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels has launched the Street Comp ultra-high performance tire. The tire utilizes Mickey Thompson’s race tire technology in a street tire.

“The Street Comp was designed with American muscle cars in mind,” says Ken Warner, vice president of sales and marketing. “These cars have higher horsepower and torque, and need a UHP street tire with superior response and ride comfort.

"The Street Comp delivers it all, as well as the ultimate style you’d expect from Mickey Thompson, giving discerning enthusiasts a top-shelf performance product at a competitive price.”

Scheduled for availability in September 2012, the new tire has a UTQG 300 AA A tread wear rating. The tread pattern is designed for "superior" performance and responsive handling in both wet and dry conditions, according to the company.

The Street Comp is available in 18 popular sizes.
