Tire sales put the 'strong' in Armstrong

The Armstrong brand was left for dead in 1997. It had a very successful run, but as sometimes happens, its usefulness as a brand, if not product, became, well, useless.

However, its death was greatly exaggerated. Zafco Trading Co. -- and an old friend -- are bringing the brand back.

"I have great memories of both the brand and the company behind it," says Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich. "The brand was iconic."

Time will tell if it still is.
