4 Yokohama tires equals 1 free jersey

June 30, 2012

Yokohama Tire Corp. is set to run its “Home Team Pride” jersey promotions with help from the Los Angeles Angels and the Philadelphia Phillies. The company is sponsoring the teams for the third and second years, respectively.

“The Angels and Phillies are major draws in two strong markets for us,” says Shawn Denlein, director of sales for consumer products. “The promotions and sponsorships will create excitement and drive consumer traffic to our dealers.”

The 2012 promotions consist of a free Angels or Phillies jersey with the purchase of four Yokohama tires from participating retailers. They will run from July 1 to August 15.

“We have had tremendous success with the “Home Team Pride” promotion in the past, and we expect another outstanding redemption rate this year,” says Denlein.

Its sponsorships with the Angels and Phillies include the following:

* signage behind home plate, on the first and third base lines and in the outfield;

* pre-game, post-game and in-game spots on the teams’ flagship radio stations throughout the season; and

* in-stadium displays and in-game announcements on the public address system and LED scoreboard.

In addition to the Phillies and Angels, Yokohama’s 2012 Major League Baseball sponsorships include a deal with the New York Yankees. Yokohama also has existing partnerships with three National Football League teams -- the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots.
