May 8, 2012

The Latin American & Caribbean Tyre Expo 2012 opens its four-day show and conference on July 25, 2012, at the Atlapa Convention Center in Panama.

The expo has already signed up more than 160 exhibitors including Bridgestone Tire Costa Rica, Sailun Tire, Triangle Tire, Double Coin Tire, JK Tornel Tire, Titan International and CEAT, show organizers say.

This third anniversary expo will provide exhibitors with direct access to the Latin American and Caribbean tire markets. “Panama is a strategic venue and a very comfortable and economical location for them to present their products to the Latin markets. It is easily accessible to all tire distributors from Central America, South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean, and is a business friendly country that also offers many tourist destinations all will enjoy.”

Speakers will include Manny Cicero, president, Alliance Tires (U.S.); Heriberto Romero, director general of Hules Banda (Mexico); Sylvia Alfaro, environmental manager Bridgestone (Costa Rica); Robert Sherkin, president of Dynamic Tire (Canada); John Powath, executive director of Rubber Asia; and David Stevens, managing director of the Tire Retread and Repair Information Bureau (U.S.).

At the 2011 Latin Tyre Expo, more than 2,100 tire dealers from the region and over 50 countries came to create commercial deals and for business networking. This year the visitor turnout is expected to increase as the show space and exhibitor list has grown by over 60% with two added halls to meet demand. The expo’s platinum sponsor is Sailun Tire.

Registration for visitors is free. COPA Airlines is providing airfare discounts and many area hotels have partnered with the expo, including Trump Ocean and the Sheraton.
