Raybestos Brakes and Denny Hamlin achieve second win of season

April 24, 2012

Denny Hamlin held off Martin Truex, Jr. to achieve his second win of the 2012 season at the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway. This race earned the JGR team its second win and its 95th Cup victory over all. For fans of racing trivia: for cars bearing the No. 11, this race marked the 199th victory.

“It was a tight race, but smart braking helped me save fuel… and that allowed me to push hard during those final 30 laps,” said Hamlin. “It’s a solid brake package. I felt confident that I could drive hard with no worry about braking.”

The Raybestos Intermediate Track racing brake package, used by NASCAR teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, combines ample stopping power with a considerable weight savings advantage on tracks like Kansas Speedway’s 1.5-mile tri-oval track.

Raybestos racing brake pads are the ultimate high-friction, high-torque racing pads. The famous Raybestos “ST” series racing compounds provide superior stopping power for championship-caliber race teams.

Raybestos Racing calipers make up the strongest and lightest caliper package currently available in all of NASCAR. They have an optimized structure caliper architecture design and a mono-block aluminum alloy construction. They also include integral crossover cooling and progressively sized titanium pistons.

Raybestos Racing two-piece rotors are engineered to withstand the high-heat torture of short tracks and road courses; delivering the effective lightweight operation required for qualifying and superspeedway runs. Winning features include an S-groove slot design, a racing-specific vane configuration and optimized metallurgy.

For reliable performance, all the Joe Gibbs Sprint Cup racecars are also equipped with Raybestos Racing ball joints and tie rods. The premium-quality chassis parts help fine-tune each car’s suspension setup for optimal grip and handling.
