Size matters where Walmart is concerned

April 18, 2012

You would think that a company as large as Wal-Mart Stores Inc. would be able to get its own way most of the time. And you would probably be right.

At least that is what Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich writes about in his latest blog about the world's largest retailer.

How big is Wal-Mart, or Walmart, as it likes to be called? In 2011, the company posted net sales of $419 billion. In contrast, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s record sales last year would have represented 1/20th of that.

Find out why Ulrich refers to Walmart as a gorilla by reading "Walmart's size influences its customers, competitors and suppliers."
