Yokohama rolls out two medium truck tires at TMC

Feb. 5, 2008

Yokohama Tire Corp. is displaying two new medium truck tires, the 501ZA and the 103ZR, at this week's Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) Show in Orlando, Fla.

The 501ZA is designed for on- and off-highway use and is a member of Yokohama's Z.Environment line of products.

The tire's compound "utilizes Z.Environment technology to produce stronger and more pliable rubber," say Yokohama officials. "The result is less heat generation, which in turn improves tread wear and provides low rolling resistance."

It will be available next month in two sizes: 11R22.5 and 11R24.5.

The 103ZR is a regional steer tire with 23/32-inch tread depth, rock ejector platforms, Z.Environment technology, and other features.

It will be available in late 2008 in a number of sizes, including 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and others.

The tire "is ready to go, but we want to introduce it slowly into the marketplace," says Jamie McMaster, national account manager, commercial products, business division, for Yokohama.
