Kumho's sales exceed last year's numbers

Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc.'s first half passenger, light truck and medium truck tire sales are up vs. the same period last year.

Kumho achieved a 32% increase in sales during 2001; company officials are confident it will reach that goal in 2002.

"We believe that our impressive growth rate relative to the rest of the industry is a direct result of three things," says Dave Hudrlik, Kumho's vice president of sales. "Adding innovative, new ultra-high performance products; adding key, strategic independent tire dealers; and continuing to build brand awareness with our integrated, multi-media marketing strategy."

Kumho has 2% of the U.S. replacement passenger tire market, according to Modern Tire Dealer research, and 1% of the domestic replacement light truck tire market.

Its domestic medium/heavy truck tire market share is 2%.
