TIA adds Los Angeles to ATS Training Tour

March 20, 2012

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has added more dates for the 2012 Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Instructor Training Tour.

The tour is comprised of four-day classes at local community, junior and technical colleges in 28 cities across the United States. Modern Tire Dealer is one of the sponsors of the tour. The next tour stop to be added is:

* May 8-11: Los Angeles, Calif.

TIA is receiving wonderful reviews from tire technicians who are taking it to the next level participating in the 2012 ATS classes. Here are some of the responses.

“This course was all fact and no bull. I’m so excited just to be associated with TIA’s instructors, Sean and Matt. It was a pleasure to come to a course and learn so much!”

“Anyone working with tires should attend this class!!!”

“Excellent class! It was such an informative, thorough course and the instructors made it simple to understand. Also, their deep knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject matter made the modules interesting and exciting.”

The Certified ATS Instructor Program is a four-day, in-depth classroom and hands-on class that industry professionals must successfully complete in order to return to the dealership(s) to train technicians to prepare them for certification. TIA has used the train-the-trainer approach to train and/or certify more than 70,000 technicians since 1997.

Certified ATS includes safety guidelines and step-by-step procedures for all aspects of passenger and light truck tire service including wheel installation with the proper torque and tire repair. It also includes a full day of instruction on Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems.
