Federal-shod BMW contests Bathurst 12 Hour in Australia

Motorsports Service Ltd., a New Zealand team with the full support of Federal Tyres from Taiwan, targeted success in both the GT and Production Car classes in the 2012 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour endurance race, held on February 24 – 26 at Mount Panorama.

The high profile event featured an action-packed program including four strong support categories: Sports Sedans, Saloon Cars, Formula Ford and Improved Production. In what was an exciting around-the-clock competition, Motorsports Service Ltd., contested the race with two thundering BMW 135i, both running on Federal’s race-bred FZ-201 semi-slick tyres, they finished an outstanding 15th outright and fourth in their class and 17th overall and 5th in class.

The Motorsport Services team has vast endurance racing experience, including past success at the famed Nurburgring 24 hour race in Germany, in New Zealand Porsche GT3 Cup, the Targa Rally and domestic endurance conpetition.

Team Manager David Taylor, pleased with the good result they clinched over the weekend competition noted, "The team is no stranger to racing in endurance events at Mount Panorama. We ran the cars reliably and quickly not give away anything in performance on Federal’s FZ-201.”
