Chino, Calif.-based OTR tiremaker American Tire Corp. (ATC) has finalized plans for its radial tire manufacturing facility in Washington State.
"The new Washington facility will consist of seven manufacturing plants, two huge warehouses, one multi-function distribution center, and one research and training building," say ATC officials. It will occuoy 130 acres.
ATC says it will build the facility's tire-building and vulcanizing machines on-site.
"Meanwhile, all related equipments, construction, and raw materials are to be procured by way of international competitive bidding in the first half of 2008."
The plant will represent a total investment of $500 million by the end of 2009.
