NHTSA sets public early warning meeting

Aug. 29, 2002

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will hold a public meeting on Sept. 24 to discuss how vehicle manufacturers and vehicle equipment makers will submit early warning data.

The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. in Room 2230 of the U.S. Department of Transportation, 400 7th St. S.W., Washington, D.C.

NHTSA also will discuss security issues surrounding the submission of early warning information, how the collection of the data will be acknowledged, and "other technical aspects associated with those submissions," according to agency officials.

For more information, contact NHTSA's Julia Goldson at (202) 366-9944 or via e-mail at [email protected].

Transcripts of the meeting will be available within four weeks after the event.
