Kumho Tire USA is returning for its second season as the official tire of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association (NBA) team.

The company also is teaming up with America’s Tire with a retail promotion that will feature a sweepstakes for free Lakers tickets, with at least one winner coming from each one of the 51 participating Southern California America’s Tire locations every week.

America’s Tire Regional Vice Presidents Al Hatfield and Todd Richards anticipate great fan participation during the promotion. “We hope Lakers fans are as excited as we are about this great offer. Free tickets, and great savings on excellent Kumho tires – it’s a win-win for everyone. We hope to make a lot of new friends during this time.”

All Lakers’ fans have to do is visit their nearest America’s Tire location, which they can locate at, fill out the in-store entry form and drop it in the submission box.  Every week winners will be notified via email and receive a unique password from Kumho Tire to redeem their two free Lakers tickets from Ticketmaster Online to attend a Lakers home game.

The promotion will run from January 15 to March 31 for the last 20 home games of the season.  2,000 total tickets will be distributed.

In addition, Kumho and America’s Tire will be offering a $50 American Express branded prepaid reward card with the purchase of a set of Kumho Ecsta 4X or Ecowing KH30 All-Season tires. The $50 prepaid reward card offer will be valid on purchases made between Jan. 15, 2012, and April 26, 2012.

Media support for the retail promotion includes in-store point of purchase materials, online advertisements including Facebook, in-game mentions on KCAL Channel 9 television, in-arena PA announcements, in-game mentions on 710 ESPN sports radio and 1330 ESPN Deportes sports radio (Spanish language), season-long exposure on the home page and more.

“We are excited to kick off this NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers and America’s Tire. Leveraging our high-profile sports marketing properties to increase brand awareness, sell more Kumho tires and build more excitement for Lakers fans is our goal for 2012,” says Rick Brennan, Kumho’s vice president of marketing.
